Writer II

Writer II

Restless, I now set here
A feeling of despair
What becomes of this career?
Time wasted, disrepair.

It’s ok, I must say,
see the brightness outside
To do, to be, maybe pray
For strength from inside

To continue writing, my thoughts unbound
Embrace the spirit of the craft
To write is one thing, unused sound
To weave the writers’ path.

Writer I

Writers I

What is it, to be a writer?
Creator of worlds unseen.
Within the sensory winds
Imagination, only.
writing, as an art,
Like a painter's brush,
A programmer's code.
Paints a portrait of what's not there.
Or illuminates the darkened sense,
Light to things unknown.
Creators from nothing,
Truly, in fiction, a personal world.
In fact, interpretation.
Analysis, our own sight.
The writer's trade, financial suicide?
Starving artists are our cousins,
cold, setting in the dark.
Quietly, or loudly, always do we
ply our trade to the masses.

I'm A Lebowski, You're A Lebowski

I'm A Lebowski, You're A Lebowski...

Fuckin’ A, Man, Can’t Be,
Worried About This Shit
There’s More To It Than Me
Getting, Indeed,To the Right of It

We Can Forget Our Deepest Low
Our Bad Thoughts and Emotion
If We Gather Our Friends and Bowl
Psychological Deconstruction

Cars Are Stolen, Rugs Peed Upon
Our Bodies May Be Beaten and Sore
But Unwavering Are We Led On
We Can’t Abide the Aggressions of War

There’s No Need For Us to Fear
To Be Harsh and Most Crude
When We Can, Instead, Clearly Hear

The Words and Wisdom of the Dude.

Equality

Equality

Let us pretend, just a while longer,
That we love one another stronger.
Nature itself cannot cut this tie.
Truly not, though society tries.

Let us pretend, just a while longer,
that those with unmet spiritual hunger.
Leave us be to love one another,
As honestly and faithfully as any other.

Let us pretend, just a while longer,
that we cannot be torn asunder.
Those who thump books contest hotly
Cannot truly understand inspired divinity.

Let us pretend, just a while longer,
that all are embraced by the divine judger,
regardless of the laws and norms of men,
who blindly follow their fathers’ ill content.

Let us pretend, just a while longer,
the condemners will see their blunder,
Judge not, lest they be judged wanting,
Wandering the constant fire, ever burning.

Let us pretend, just a while longer,
that we love one another stronger.
We who are true to the Spirit’s intent,
living lives quietly and boldly content.

Builders

Builders

Cast we were in molded clay,
infused with breath and life.
Sent upon this land, to stray,
with conflict, peace, and strife.

Conflict, it seems, builds the man
though what indeed would be said?
By that which unfolds the Master Plan,
To expand, to live full lives instead.

Working towards our future goals,
ignoring the beautiful today,
we strive towards distant Poles,
Ignoring that before us today.

All we have is God and Now,
eternally we must connect
to love, to live, remain unbowed
to avoid becoming careless wreck.

Nature's True Gift

Nature's True Gift

How to describe what you are
the call of something wild
like a wolf crying to the moon
the call of freedom

the ocean spans the globe
ever caressing the shore
sometimes harsh, sometimes gentle
always true, to self and others

Do I call you love?
the feeling within the chest
capturing your moments of solitude;
together, nature-blessed

Peers young and old speak of you
though some seek to capture you
I seek your warm embrace
my love, my freedom

Placing yourself, oh freedom
you, a friend to all, they seek you
these places, many more, too
have known your presence

Do I indeed seek you as they do?
Are these feelings of truth, no vanity
No ego, or am I deceived?
I fear the true answer.

Others will love you as I do,
Others have loved you as I do,
With equal respect and yearning
What came of these, past and future?

This call of the wild
at once natural yet foreign to me
what answer can I find to satiate
this call to be free?

To cast away your shackles
bonds which bind you down
without insult as to your self power
yet show that I, indeed, care.

One not needing safety
strong on your own, self-determined
yet my instinct does call me
action of protection, guardian

I seek your company, oh freedom
the road before is an exciting one
natural and artificial wonders, behold
together, more special, shared sight

Take my hand, share my embrace
I seek nothing more, when you’re ready
walk side by side with me
we’ll journey along together
my love, oh freedom

Remembrance of a Warrior

Remembrance of a Warrior

Remember me,
though at times frustrating.
Remember me,
for my constant hesitating.

Remember me,
as I sometimes made you laugh.
Remember me,
when we were both fellow staff.

Remember me,
when I angered you.
Remember me,
when I comforted you.

Remember me,
As my world burns.
Remember me,
As the north wind turns.

Remember me,
As my body lies ruined.
Remember me,
Because my spirit remains fluid.

Remember me,
When I am no more.
Remember me,
As you've done before.

Remember me,
Because I loved you.
Remember me,
I remain forever true.
