Truth of Self

Truth of Self

I seek the wind, the heart of life
To be that which is meant to be
Come and go into that which belies
the true me, the self for all to see.

As I am, so I shall become
The troubadour for trouble
To face hardship and not run
To be strong and not stumble

I am me, I can be no other
No one else is one better
Though others seek to smother
The true me, letter painter.

We all are unique creations,
each going about their way
in individual peaks and stations,
who else but us can say?

Seek that which makes one happy
not materials or money or wealth,
but that which, though sometimes sappy,
truly nourishes the soul to health.

All of us of unique creation,
to each his own true peace.
To each their boundless elation
until harm and wars do truly cease.
