Equality
Let us pretend, just a while longer,
That we love one another stronger.
Nature itself cannot cut this tie.
Truly not, though society tries.
Let us pretend, just a while longer,
that those with unmet spiritual hunger.
Leave us be to love one another,
As honestly and faithfully as any other.
Let us pretend, just a while longer,
that we cannot be torn asunder.
Those who thump books contest hotly
Cannot truly understand inspired divinity.
Let us pretend, just a while longer,
that all are embraced by the divine judger,
regardless of the laws and norms of men,
who blindly follow their fathers’ ill content.
Let us pretend, just a while longer,
the condemners will see their blunder,
Judge not, lest they be judged wanting,
Wandering the constant fire, ever burning.
Let us pretend, just a while longer,
that we love one another stronger.
We who are true to the Spirit’s intent,
living lives quietly and boldly content.
