New Morning
She begins to stir, ever so gently
I awaken to the crisp winter air
A kiss, embrace, sweet simplicity
I arise to the morning, so fair
The water warms in the kettle
as coffee and tea sets at the ready
the bird sings, a blossoming petal
nature’s new morning medley
Cracking eggs, whipping batter, preparation
it is a joyous holiday today
hugging a feeling of exaltation
we are both truly alive this day.
Plated, settled, brewed, and set,
I gently walk to the place of slumber.
She’s awakened now, eyes met
We both now satiate our hunger.
Having finished the morning meal,
we look at each other lovingly.
Eager both to begin, with zeal,
activities of this new journey.
